Welcome to 4-S, the place to go for Michigan Tech students who are

interested in the social sciences.  We provide professional, academic, and social opportunities for majors in the social sciences department, and other students

interested in the social sciences fields.

MTU's Department of Social Science Presents the 2nd annual:

Archaeology Day!

Orienteering

Saturday, October 7, students will have a chance to experience real hands on archaeology!

Students will be meeting with Dr. Tim Scarlett, Dr. Sam Sweitz, and Dr. Carol MacLennan in the Archaeology annex at 9 am to for an introduction to the Huron Mine site, ethics, and the activities they will be participating in. This will include mapping of a domestic/industrial site at the Huron mine behind Walmart.

Activities will begin at 9 am, meeting in the archaeology lab (morning snacks will be provided) and continue until approximately 1:00 pm.
