Genevieve Borg
I recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. During my undergraduate years, I worked for the MDNR Parks and Recreation Division for two summers. I also had a joint internship with Gore Range Natural Science school and the USFS in Vail, CO in 2006. My interest in the environment stems from my love of nature and all outdoor activities. I am also an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Red Wings and Michigan Football (Go Blue!).
Khila Dahal
Khila R. Dahal worked with a non-governmental organization on drinking water distribution issues in rural Nepal for about a decade, before he did his Master in Education from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. He was working as a journalist for the government-owned National News Agency of Nepal for three years before coming to Michigan Tech. The study of water-related issues, mainly in developing countries, is his current research interest. He loves reading books on science fiction in his leisure time, as well as watching sports on TV and playing volleyball.
Smriti Dahal
I am Smriti Dahal from Nepal. I did my undergraduate in Environmental
Studies from Slippery Rock University in PA. I worked for a year in the
World Bank's Environment Department in Washington DC before
coming here, mainly on issues related with Youth and Environment.
I am interested in learning more about community
participation in natural resource management, especially in the developing
countries with a focus on women's participation. When I am free I usually like
to go out with friends, cook, just walk around and appreciating nature. (I
hope I can add skiing to the list after I get my first experience in the
winter.)

His varying career experience over the last 15 years includes sales, financial consulting, log home construction, and many years as a professional musician. As an outdoor enthusiast, Andrew is thrilled to be in the beautiful Upper Peninsula. He is also proud to continue his “family tradition” at Michigan Tech, with 4 alumni relatives, beginning with his grandfather in 1949.
Nelson Manda
I've worked for the past 10 years at the national and regional levels in the Southern African Development Community (SADC). My contribution there has been in the area of toxic chemicals risk management, especially with regard to persistent organic pollutants (POPs). My current research interest is broadly on environmental policy issues as they pertain to Southern African nations. I am the proud father of a young boy named Besa and am married to a wonderful woman named Nakaluba.
