After recording the team-best punt of 63 yards against Grand Valley in 2003, he handled the team's punting chores in 2004.

His 46 punts on the season averaged 37.4 yards. His longest was 56 yards. Also had 2 rushes and 1 kick return in 2004.

September 25:  Koenig named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week

He averaged 40.7 yards per punt, with three inside Ashland's 20-yard line in a 17-14 MTU victory September 24 

Also hit his season-high with a kick of 59 yards.  Bill leads the GLIAC with an average of 41.8 yards per punt.
